June is upon us and we’re already finding ourselves pawing for a summer getaway. Although the annual two-week family sun holiday may be on the cards, we’ve think you’ll be pleasantly interested to find what’s going on in Europe this June: from festivals to day trips and city breaks, check out what we’ve got in store before checking in at the airport.
5. Rock Werchter Festival, Belgium

What’s on: Europe’s best rock festival returns to Belgium, running from Thursday 29th of June to Sunday 3rd of July, and this year’s line-up is exceptional! From musical legends such as Foo Fighters, to our adolescent favourites Linkin Park and the fantastic System of a Down.
The ticket prices range from €256 (combi camping and festival), to €100 for a day ticket. It’s worth going the full whack if you ask us!
How to get there: Located a mere 30km from Brussels, it makes perfect sense to catch a cheap flight into Brussels Airport and catch the train from there!
4. London, UK

What’s on: There’s always something going on in London, which makes it the perfect spot for a day trip. But this June will go down in history for the Harry Potter fans among us, as ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ opens for previews in the Palace Theatre!
How to get there: London being the transport epicentre of the UK, has a ton of connections from all over the place, find yourself a cheap ticket to the big smoke here.
3. Lisbon, Portugal

What’s on: Lisbon is a recurring holiday hotspot across top travel lists, and it’s easy to see why! It’s stunning colourful buildings, its seaside location and of course, it’s craziest night of the year the Eve of Santo Antonio, Feast Day of the Popular Saints.
On the 12th of June each year the streets of Lisbon come alive with all-night street parties to the sounds of Pimba music, beautifully dressed citizens parading through the neighbourhoods of the city and a fine array of traditional streetfood, three ingredients for the perfect party escape!
How to get there: There are a ton of direct flights to Lisbon from any of the international airports in the UK, start looking for the best price here.
2. Amsterdam, the Netherlands

What’s on: June is the perfect month to visit the acclaimed ‘Venice-of-the-North’, typically known for its specific characteristics, there’s a lot more to Amsterdam than coffee culture and the red-light district.
It’s heaps of activities including the Artis Royal Zoo, canal cruises and open-air cinemas by the water make Amsterdam the ideal city break destination for any traveling family.

1. Open’er Festival, Poland

What’s on: A relatively new festival, Open’er is on the climbing list of the best music festivals Poland has to offer. Running from the 27th of June until July 1st.
Prices range from €55 a day ticket to €125 for a full festival ticket with camping.
How to get there: Flying directly to Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport is your best bet, fares tend to be cheap and frequent so if you’re looking for an inexpensive festival this summer, this could be for you!
