Where do trains depart from and arrive to?

Trains from Edinburgh to Glasgow depart from Edinburgh's main station, Waverley. This attractive Victorian building is within a short walk of Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street. Edinburgh's public transport system is mainly composed of bus routes operated by Lothian and First Buses. Edinburgh Coach Lines offer a tourist route, as do several hop-on hop-off buses.

Glasgow Queen Street is the smaller of the city's two main line stations, and is centrally located just off Cathedral Street. Glasgow Queen Street and Central Stations are ten minutes walk apart, with a regular shuttle bus running between the two. Much of historic Glasgow is pedestrianised, making exploring on foot easy. A double subway train circle operates around the city centre and inner suburbs, while First Glasgow, Stagecoach and McGill operate frequent buses across the city and further afield. Glasgow has a night bus service and a taxi rank is located at both city centre stations.
