Located just outside London in leafy countryside, Hemel Hempstead the ideal place to unwind. Visit the beautiful woodlands of the Ashridge Estate, tour the home of writer George Bernard Shaw or explore local activities like skiing at Hemel's Snow Centre. Then, round it all off with a pint at the local Red Squirrel Brewery.
Travel to Hemel Hempstead is simple. Hemel is very close to Luton and Stansted Airports, and is accessible from Heathrow as well. Easyjet use Luton as a base, so budget flights will always be an option, while other airlines using Luton include Ryanair and Monarch. Getting from your flight to Hemel Hempstead is easy as well, with bus and rail routes running throughout the day.
Hemel Hempstead is a major rail station on the West Coast Mainline and has excellent links to London terminals. If you need to reach the town by train, London Midland and Southern trains run regular services from London Euston, and the journey time is around 30 minutes. The station is a few kilometres south-west of the city centre, but you can easily get there via the number 4 bus route.
Coaches are a popular way to travel to Hemel Hempstead, and the town is connected by its very own coach service - the Green Line operated by Arriva. Green Line buses 758 and 759 run from London Kings Cross and Victoria Coach Station to Hemel Hempstead Bus Station, and the journey generally takes just over an hour. National Express also runs coaches to Hemel Hempstead, with routes to Heathrow Airport, Cambridge, Gatwick Airport and Oxford.
