    Renfe AVE offers Promo, Promo+, Flexible, and Mesa (table for 4) fares. Renfe AVE also offers Preferente (1st Class), Turista (2nd Class), and Turista Plus (Premium 2nd Class) tickets for each fare type.

Children under 14 years old recieve a 40% discount on Renfe AVE train tickets. Children under 6 years old travel for free on Cercanias trains if they do not occupy a seat. On Catalonia Commuter trains, the ticket policy for children is determined by the local transportation authority.


    No check-in is required for Renfe AVE trains.


    Renfe offers discounted fares for travellers who have a Gold Card ("Tarjeta Dorada"), a Youth Card ("Carné Joven"), or a Card + Young Renfe 50 supplement ("Tarjeta + Renfe Joven 50"). Buses from Madrid to Valencia

Avanza operates a direct bus route between the two cities, seven days a week. 11 buses a day depart from Madrid's Mendez Alvaro Bus Station, starting in the early hours of the morning until late evening. They arrive at the Estacion de Autobuses, located on Valencia's Avenida Menendez Pidal, approximately 4 hours later.

Trains from Madrid to Valencia

The quickest way of making the journey by train is to choose one of RENFE's high-speed AVE services, which depart from Madrid Puerta de Atocha Station 10 times a day. This direct journey usually takes just under 2 hours and finishes at the Valencia Joaquim Sorolla Station. The slower RENFE trains can take up to 4 hours and be more expensive. The same timetable operates seven days a week.

Flights from Madrid to Valencia

Iberia and Air Europa both have daily flights between these two cities. Together they offer 7 direct flights a day between Madrid Barajas Airport and Valencia Manises Airport, both conveniently located for the city centres. Flight time is around an hour, but passengers should allow a total journey time of about 3.5 hours to cover transfers and security checks.
